Wake up!

Wake up with an urge and a fire to do whatever it is that drives you. Take the time to figure it out-what motivates you? What can’t you stop thinking about? What pulls your attention when you’re focusing on the thing that kinda holds your interest? What are you always talking about, daydreaming about, journaling about? 

Stop blaming the choices that you’ve made and saying that’s the reason you are where you are. We ALL have those. So what? 

Some of us decide to quit bitching and start doing. And you can start at any moment. Whatever the fuck you want, you can have. But you have to want it. And you have to eat, sleep, breathe it. No excuses. 

Think about it.

Brain Train

In order to create a different perspective, sometimes you have to completely re-train your brain. If you are always negative, you will need to re-wire your mind to look for the positive.

It may feel fake or forced at first, but having a positive outlook on life makes the journey that much more enjoyable…and makes you more enjoyable to be around, for others.

Worth it!

It’s ok to have a moment, to have bumps in the road, to have the 💩 hit the fan, etc….the thing is, we can’t LIVE there. We can’t succumb to the poop filled moment and give up on life.

Seriously, no one likes a Debbie Downer. Sh*t happens. But come on!
Get it together, put a flippin’ smile on your face and dig your panties out of your butt.

Try this workout on for size. The goal is to fatigue each group of muscles.

Legs, arms, abs.

I suggest warming up, run for 15-30 for cardio, then do this set 2-3x.

Don’t forget your cool down!
Now go sweat 👍

Feel the burn 🔥

Here’s a fun one for muscle fatigue…I am feeling my biceps and quadriceps today and it’s only day 1.

Here’s the deal:
1. The workout doesn’t say it but please ALWAYS warm up and cool down when working out.

2. Hydrate! You need H2O.

3. Try to go to fatigue in this one…Each exercise is to be done for one minute, but you will be doing 3 sets. By the 3rd set, you should be fatiguing…muscle failure…otherwise raise your weight amount.

4. You will do this entire workout 2-3 times. *Biceps = bicep curls with weights.

5. This workout was created for my students in a classroom so I had them run 3 laps around their room. If you are in a small space but have access to a treadmill or can run around your block: Do a 2-3 min jog for the listed “run” sections. The only rest you will have is 15 seconds between your 1 min sets. That’s it! No more.

Now go feel that burn!

People often ask me the following questions:
1. How do I lose my excess body fat?
2. How do I get bigger muscles?
3. How do I get in better shape?

My answers to the following are:
1. Cardio! And changing your diet.
2. Lift bigger! Use weights.
3. Exercise more (5x a week at least).

We all know the answers, we just don’t want to do the work. Welp, sorry friends. You gotta work! There is no magic pill you can take or some meditation cd you can listen to while you’re asleep to get you into better shape.

The lab…is your gym. Your living room, your backyard, the park. Where ever! And the results come after quality time is spent.

So get up and put in your time. The longer you resist, the longer you’ll be out of shape 😬😳 and Summer is almost here!

Happy Monday peeps!

I know you’ve heard the saying “You are what you eat”…Well, to a big extent it is true.

I tell my students and clients to choose food that will nutritionally fuel them. Think of food as gas (no pun intended) like your car. You need good quality gas to get you through your day and feel good.

Junk food and fast food are typically cheap because there is less quality there. It’s a quick fix. Not that you have to spend your life savings and 401k to eat well, but it may cost more in preparation, time, and effort in searching for nutrient rich products.

Your body is the only one you get.
Treat it as such.

More veggies, less fats, limit animal protein (find less fattening proteins like beans), no soda, less sodium, less alcohol, less dessert-more fruit.

That’s nutrition in a nutshell! Nutrition has more depth than this, but you can at least reprogram your thinking and jump start your new goals today.

Benefits: More natural energy, clearer skin, better sleep, stronger bones-hair-nails-teeth, lower body fat percentage, less inches, less weight, less dependency on medications, more muscle tone, a longer and healthier life! How can you resist?!

Don’t! Now go donate the stuff you won’t need any longer and reprogram your fridge and cabinets…
