Hi all! I guess this semester has been busier than I intended! I hope all has been well ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ. Here’s a workout I did yesterday and whew, we all felt it! Enjoy ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ:

Be your own damn #wcw! 

Try this #workoutwednesday circuit and watch your inner hot, badass bitch emerge ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘™

Each exercise is 10 reps.

Use weights on the exercises where you feel you can add them.

REPEAT ENTIRE CIRCUIT 10 TIMES. 

The only break you get is 10-15 seconds max at the close of the set. Aim for completing the entire workout in 30-45 mins. #Boom Let me know how it goes below!

The MIX Technique has a new home! I am happy to announce that starting Saturday 2/13/16, The MIX Technique will be in residence at Aerial Revolution.
I started studying at Aerial Revolution last year and loved the energy. Studio owner, Jessica Flores, is a beautiful spirit and I am happy to be working with her.

Their dance room space is being renovated in the next few weeks so classes will begin on 2/13 in the lovely, new space.

Once I receive feedback from my clients regarding additional days and times, I will add on as I see fit. Until then, I am starting with Saturday mornings ๐Ÿ™‚  

All client registrations and class enrollment will continue to take place via our MINDBODY site (link on website).

Push Yourself

Sometimes people stick to what is comfortable because trying something new can be scary. Push yourself: I try to live in this zone. At the end of the day, I don’t want to look back and think, “Wow, today I was so comfortable and everything felt the same”. 

Boo. No thanks.

At the end of the day, I want to feel challenged, pushed and as though I learned something new-about my abilities, myself or a new outlook. 

Cross train so that you are ready for anything: Zombies, bad guys or simply…life. When we are physically equipped to handle stress and the ability to move the body (in a healthy, strong way) we feel tougher and can handle more! Why wouldn’t you want that?! ๐Ÿค”

So, gym time is not just gym time. It’s YOU time…Meditation time…goal setting time…stress relieving time. 

Go. Push yourself. 

  

Workout Wednesday for December!

We have one month left of 2015!!! 

Time to kill it and wrap it up, peeps!

I do this circuit with my students and we use a S.T.E.P platform w/ 3 risers on each side, body bar and mat. After 1 minute at each exercise, we run a lap around the class room (after EACH listed exercise). 

*If working out at home/ofc, run (in place or around house/complex/ofc) for another 1 minute. Repeat 2-3x.

Workout Wednesday 11/25/15

Make sure you are finding time to meditate, workout, stretch and rest. It’s a balancing act, but once you’ve found your groove, you will be unstoppable. Keep going until then…You got this!  

 

You. Will. Feel. This. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Try it on for size…the first set of each exercise is 90 seconds, take a 30 second rest, and then repeat the same exercise for 60 seconds. Move through the entire series and repeat the full set 2-3 times! 

Props needed: Jump rope, Body Bar (for the BB JJ: BB jumping jacks), mat, and free weights for lunges and squats (*optional, for badasses). 

   

The best way to stay motivated for your workouts is to do something you love! Duh! Right? If you are dreading your workout, then you’re not going to commit to it. 

Keep it interesting, find the teachers you vibe with, and seek the styles you enjoy AND that challenge you to be better. Taking “easy” workout classes all the time is not the way, either. I like to take classes from people who are fun yet challenge me and maaaaybbe scare me a little because I know they’ll call me out if I’m slacking ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Running and I have always had a love//hate relationship. In 2011, it saved me. It helped me with clearing my mind and keep myself physically strong during major life transitions. For a while, I left running, being busy with amazing work opportunities but have missed it. I’ve started running again recently and our love affair has begun again. 

It’s free, it’s meditative, it’s a workout ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ
